The six states that will receive financial assistance from government are Uttarakhand, Assam, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Mizoram

The Central Government approved Rs 1,066.80 crore in financial assistance for six states severely affected by floods and landslides during the ongoing southwest monsoon. The funds, released under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), will support Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala, and Uttarakhand in their relief and recovery efforts.

As per the official statement, Assam will receive Rs 375.60 crore, Uttarakhand Rs 455.60 crore, Kerala Rs 153.20 crore, Meghalaya Rs 30.40 crore, Manipur Rs 29.20 crore, and Mizoram Rs 22.80 crore. These states have witnessed widespread damage due to heavy rainfall, flash floods, and landslides over the past few weeks.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared the development on X, noting that over Rs 8,000 crore has been allocated from SDRF and NDRF funds to 19 states this year. He also stated that, in addition to financial aid, the Centre has provided full logistical support, including deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Army, and the Air Force for ongoing rescue and relief operations.
