Early trends from the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election show a strong lead for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the coalition believed to have crossed the 100-seat mark in the 243-seat chamber. According to multiple media updates, the NDA is comfortably ahead while the rival Mahagathbandhan trails behind at this early stage of counting.
The ruling alliance, spearheaded by Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (United) under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, appears to have picked up momentum quickly in many key constituencies. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan — featuring Rashtriya Janata Dal, Indian National Congress and other regional partners — is working to close the gap, but at present remains in catch-up mode.
These early numbers will help form a clearer picture by evening, though they already suggest the NDA is on course for a substantial victory. With over 67 % voter turnout and widespread interest across the state, all eyes are now on whether the ruling alliance can convert this early advantage into a governable majority.
