The incident took place near the stage barricade, where a large crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the popular Bollywood singer

A stampede-like situation broke out during singer Shreya Ghoshal’s musical event at Cuttack’s Baliyatra ground in Odisha, causing at least three attendees to faint. The chaos unfolded near the stage barricade, where an unusually large crowd had gathered to watch the popular Bollywood singer perform.

Initial reports indicate that the heavy rush and pushing within the crowd led to a breakdown in order, forcing police to use a mild lathi charge to regain control. The incident occurred on the final night of the nine-day Bali Jatra festival, which had drawn thousands of visitors to the venue.

Eyewitnesses said the crowd management arrangements proved insufficient, as people continued to press against the barricades for a closer view. The resulting panic left several attendees struggling to breathe, causing some to faint. Senior police officials, including the ACP, reached the spot promptly to restore order and ensure a safe dispersal of the crowd.
