Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, August 29, strongly criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his party after alleged derogatory remarks were made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during an event in Bihar’s Darbhanga. Shah demanded that the Congress issue an apology, calling the remarks unacceptable and deeply disrespectful.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Brahmaputra Wing of the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati, Shah accused Congress of repeatedly targeting PM Modi with personal attacks. He said that while such behavior has been seen before, the remarks made during the “Ghuspaithiya Bachao Yatra” had crossed all limits.
Shah further defended PM Modi’s mother, recalling her simple and humble life. He said she raised her children with values despite modest means, and one of them went on to become the world’s most popular leader. “There cannot be a more degraded form of politics than insulting her at a Congress and RJD rally,” he remarked.
