CP Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the 15th Vice President of India on Friday, September 12. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Dressed in a red kurta, Radhakrishnan took the oath in English, invoking the name of God.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Cabinet ministers, opposition leaders, and other top political figures were also present to witness the ceremony.
Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar marked his first public appearance since stepping down from office by attending the ceremony. His presence added significance to the occasion as the transition of the vice-presidential office formally took place.
