Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina summoned by ED in 1xBet case

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning tomorrow in connection with the ongoing investigation into the 1xBet case. The agency is expected to record his statement as part of its probe into alleged violations linked to the platform.

The summons is part of a broader crackdown on illegal betting apps and platforms, many of which have faced scrutiny for celebrity endorsements. Authorities have been investigating promotional activities that may have contributed to the spread of such services in regions where they are prohibited.

Earlier in May, Telangana Police registered cases against 25 popular actors, including Rana Daggubati and Prakash Raj. Both actors denied any wrongdoing, clarifying that they no longer promote such platforms and that their past campaigns were restricted to regions where online skill-based games are legally allowed.
