The death toll from the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort earlier this week has risen to 13, after another injured person, identified as Bilal, succumbed to his injuries at LNJP Hospital, officials said on Thursday, November 13. Bilal had been undergoing treatment for severe burn and blast injuries.
Many of the injured remain hospitalized across the city, with several reported to be in critical condition. Delhi Police confirmed that information about Bilal’s death was received from the hospital early Thursday, and his post-mortem examination is scheduled for later in the day.
A joint team of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Delhi Police recovered a body part near New Lajpat Rai Market, close to the blast site, which claimed 12 lives initially. The recovered remains have been sent for forensic examination to support the ongoing investigation, which is now being led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
