India’s Adline Quadros Castelino has finished fourth at the 69th Miss Universe beauty pageant. Miss Mexico Andrea Meza has been crowned as Miss Universe. The first runner up is Julia Gama from Brazil, while Janick Maceta from Peru is the second runner-up. The event was held at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Adline is the first beauty queen in the last 20 years to make it to the top 5 from India. She oozed confidence in her final Question and Answer round. The question asked to Adline was, “Should countries lockdown due to COVID-19 despite the strain on their economies or should they open their order and risk a potential increase in infection rates?”

To which she answered, “Good evening Universe. Well, coming from India and for what India is experiencing right now, I have come to realise something very important. Nothing is more important than the health of your loved ones. And you have to draw a balance between economy and health. And that can only be done when the government works with the people hand in hand and produces something that will work with the economy.”

Adline, who hails from Udupi, Karnataka had earlier won LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2020. She has done her graduation from Wilson College for business administration in Mumbai. The beauty queen works for a welfare organisation called Vikas Sahayog Pratisthan (VSP), which works for the well-being of farmers.
