At least six people died after a bus with around 21 passengers fell in a river in Meghalaya on Wednesday midnight, as informed by the police.
The bus was travelling from Tura to Shillong when it fell into the Ringdi river in Nongchram.
Following the incident, the rescue team and emergency services rushed to the accident site to help the victims.
As per reports, four bodies have been fished out of the river while two dead bodies are said to be trapped inside the bus.
Meanwhile, sixteen passengers have been rescued and taken to the hospital.
The accident took place at the Nongchram bridge which is the border between East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills district.
The driver of the bus is among those dead, as per reports.
