The Sainik School in Assam’s Goalpara has been declared as a containment zone on Thursday due to rising Covid-19 cases.
According to reports, a total of 29 people, of which 17 students and 2 teachers, were tested positive for Covid-19 in the school between October 25 to November 15.
Among the 29, 12 students and a teacher have still not recovered and are showing to be positive with the virus.
Following this, the administration took the decision to declare the school as a containment zone.
Assam recorded 250 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the active tally to 1,847 cases while five deaths were registered on Wednesday.
