A series of competitions including singing, fashion shows etc., will be organized during the three-day event at Ward's Lake. Ever since its conceptualization, the festival has become a hit in Shillong drawing a large footfall of visitors from every nook and corner of the country every year.
Keeping the outbreak of Covid-19 in mind, only double vaccinated guests will be allowed. Vaccination certificates will be checked.

"Children will be allowed accompanied by double vaccinated adults. Masks are mandatory inside the venue," stated Meghalaya Tourism.

A cherry blossom is a flower of many trees of genus Prunus or Prunus subg. Cerasus. They are also known as Japanese cherry and Sakura.
In India, the cherry blossom is an attraction as well, most notably in Himalayan states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim & northern districts of West Bengal namely Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling, along with tropical highlands of Garo Hills and Khasi Hills in Meghalaya where Prunus cerasoides is native to.
