Amid the surge in cases of the new variant coronavirus Omicron around the world, Israel detected the first case of 'florona' disease, informed Arab News on Friday. It is a double infection of Covid-19 and influenza.
Taking it to Twitter, Arab News informed, "#Israel records the first case of #florona disease, a double infection of #COVID19 and influenza.”
As reported by an Israeli newspaper, the case of double infection was found in a woman who entered the Rabin Medical Center this week to give birth.
Meanwhile, Israel has begun administering fourth vaccine shots against Covid-19 on Friday. The fourth dose of the vaccine will be administered with weakened immune systems along with elderly residents and employees in care homes.
On Friday morning, the rollout of the fourth dose began at Israel's Sheba Medical Center and was administered to heart and lung transplant patients, as per reports.
Israel reported a continuous rise in COVID-19 cases, with nearly 5,000 new cases were diagnosed on Thursday taking the tally of active cases to 22,000, as per the new data.
