• Huge Cache Of Explosives Seized Near Myanmar Border

    The smuggling of weapons and war-like stores is a major cause of concern for Mizoram

    The Assam Rifles on Friday seized a huge cache of explosives and war-like stores near the Myanmar border in Mizoram, as informed by officials on Saturday.

    A joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Mizoram police based on specific information at Mawhre village area in Siaha district on Friday. 

    Taking it to Twitter on Sunday, they informed, “Lunglei Battalion #AssamRifles along with #MizoramPolice recovered explosives 81 kg liquid & 94 kg Belox granular, 395 kg Gelatin rods, 356 rds, 70 mm cartridges & other warlike stores near Village Mawhre, Saiha district 31 Dec.”

    The explosives and other items were handed over to the police for further legal proceedings later.

    It may be mentioned that the smuggling of weapons and war-like stores is a major cause of concern for Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar border.
