    More than 160 people have died in Kazakhstan following the government's brutal crackdown on the ongoing protests over the lifting of price caps for oil, which culminated in protests against the ruling class.

    Protestors have reportedly ransacked government buildings and even occupied the airport for a while.

    The office of the Kazakh president, KJassym-Jomart Tokayev stated on Sunday that a "substantial number of foreign nationals have been arrested" who have been referred by him as a "band of international terrorists."

    It may be mentioned, a state of emergency has been declared along with a nationwide curfew in the country.
