    Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, commonly known as 'The Wall' turned 49 on Tuesday.

    1) Hockey Player:

    Dravid used to play hockey before he switched to cricket. He represented his home state, Karnataka in junior state tournaments. 

    2) Nickname:

    Known for many nicknames in the country, such as ‘The Wall’ or ‘Mr. Dependable’. The ace cricketer also goes by the nickname ‘Jammy’. He earned the nickname Jammy because his father used to work in the ‘Kissan’ factory. Later Rahul also did an advertisement for ‘Kissan Jam’.

    3) Prank On Dravid:

    Dravid was proposed on MTV’s popular show – ‘Bakra’, as part of the prank. In the show, the woman fan is seen giving ‘decency lessons’ on how cricket stars should ‘behave’ with female fans. 

    4) Scoring Centuries:

    The Team India coach is the only batsman who holds the record for scoring Centuries in 4 consecutive innings in Test Cricket.

    5) Sexiest Sports Personality:

    In an online survey(2004-05), Dravid was voted as the “Sexiest Sports Personality in India”, leaving behind the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Sania Mirza and other sports personalities.

    6) Debut and Retirement

    Dravid is the only cricketer who made his debut in T20 Internationals and took retirement in the same match. 

    7) Jersey Number

    Dravid was always seen in Jersey number is 19. When asked about the specific number he said, “it’s the best way to remember my wife’s birthday.”

    8) Unique Honour

    The Team India coach is the only non-Australian cricketer to address the Bradman Oration. The Sir Donald Bradman Oration is a prestigious event for the Australian cricket fraternity. He delivered a speech at this event on December 14, 2022 at the War Memorial in the Australian capital city of Canberra, New South Wales. 

    9) 'Padma Shri' and 'Padma Bhushan'

    Dravid was also honoured with “Padma Shri” and “Padma Bhushan” from the Government of India for his services to Cricket.

    10) Man of the Match

    He has won 11 Man of the Match Awards in Tests, 8 of them in overseas Tests.
