A Boeing 737 jet
flew 4,000 KM with just one passenger on board. Israel's national airline El Al flew the plane from Tel Aviv to
Casablanca to pick up a passenger for medical treatment.
The flight, which
can usually carry around 160 passengers in a two-class format, carried one
passenger. According to the data from the
website FlightRadar24, the plane LY5051 left Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport at 2:20
PM and landed in Casablanca at 5:22 PM. Later in the evening, the plane left at
7:10 PM and landed at Tel Aviv just before 3 AM.
According to the reports, the plane carried the
passenger for medical treatment in Israel. The flight was organised by Madassis
Medical Flights, which also "brought an intensive care team and advanced
medical equipment to the plane, overseen by Dr Ami Mayo, Assuta Intensive Care
Manager and the company's medical director."
The reports further added that the Israeli businessman
paid for everything. It is to be mentioned that medical
intensive care flights usually cost the sick passenger and his/her attendants. However,
not every company/aircraft can make such a flight due to medical equipment, a
permit for an RTA pilot and other matters related to air pressure, etc.
