As Russia continues its war with Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin's rumoured girlfriend and former gymnast Alina Kabaeva has become the recent target of a petition.
The petition has been launched on change.org by people from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, and they are demanding that Switzerland expels the woman from her luxury mountain villa, where she is allegedly hiding with her three children.
38-year-old Alina is an Olympic Gold medalist and several publications, including The Guardian, have claimed her to be Putin's girlfriend. However, the Russian President has never officially recognised her.
Since being posted, the petition has managed to receive more than 56,000 signatures. The petition read, "It's time you reunite Eva Braun with her Führer."
Many reports have claimed that Alina along with her children have been sent to Switzerland amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
Known as “Russia's most flexible woman”, Alina spent six years as a Member of Parliament representing Putin's United Russia Party.
She has been serving as the chairperson of the board of directors at National Media Group, a major pro-Kremlin media group, for more than seven years for which she has been receiving a salary of almost 8 million Euros a year, according to a The Daily Mail report.
Alina was last seen in public, on camera, dancing at the Divine Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament in Moscow in December last year.
