US President Donald Trump signed into law his highly publicized - Big Beautiful Bill - a broad legislative package that includes tax cuts, reductions to welfare programs, and stricter immigration enforcement, potentially shaping the cornerstone of his second-term legacy

President Donald Trump signed a comprehensive package of tax cuts and spending reforms into law during a festive Fourth of July event at the White House, complete with a military flyover and picnic. The legislation, supported almost entirely by Republicans, stands as Trump’s most significant domestic accomplishment of his second term and a key fulfillment of his campaign promises.

The new law includes tax relief for tip income and Social Security payments, while also launching major reforms to social safety net programs.

“America’s winning like never before,” Trump declared during the ceremony, referencing both the bill’s passage and last month’s military action against Iran. He noted that the stealth bomber flyover was intended to honour that operation. “Promises made, promises kept – and we’ve kept them,” he added.

The signing took place at a desk set up on the White House driveway, with Trump flanked by Republican lawmakers and Cabinet officials. He used a ceremonial gavel presented by House Speaker Mike Johnson to mark the occasion. Trump had previously pledged to sign the bill by Independence Day, following its approval in both the House and Senate earlier in the week.

The ceremony featured a brief 22-minute speech from the President and concluded what he described as a “winning streak” for his administration, pointing to recent US Supreme Court decisions that aligned with his agenda.

As night fell, the President and First Lady Melania Trump appeared on the Truman Balcony to cheers of “USA, USA” from the crowd on the South Lawn. The couple watched the fireworks display before leaving for their New Jersey residence to continue their holiday weekend.
