The initial probe has revealed that three seconds after take-off from Ahmedabad, fuel supply to both engines of the Air India Boeing 787 got cut off

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Saturday, July 12, emphasized that the findings from the June 12 Air India crash investigation are still preliminary, cautioning both the public and media against drawing conclusions before the final report is released.

The initial investigation revealed that just three seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad, the fuel supply to both engines of the Boeing 787 was abruptly cut off. Data showed that the aircraft’s fuel control switches were flipped from “RUN” to “CUTOFF” within a second of each other, leading to the fatal crash.

Calling the probe “challenging,” Naidu praised the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for handling the investigation with transparency and professionalism. He assured that the Civil Aviation Ministry is thoroughly analysing the report and reiterated the importance of waiting for the final findings before making any definitive judgments.
