Just days after lifting the ban on diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles over 15 years, the Delhi government has issued a new order stating that fuel will not be provided to such vehicles starting November 1.
This restriction will also be enforced in the five districts of the National Capital Region (NCR) on the same date.
The decision follows a meeting of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) held on Tuesday, after the Delhi government requested a review of the earlier plan to stop fuel supply to End-of-Life Vehicles from July 1.
Taking the request into account, the commission agreed it would be more appropriate to implement the fuel ban across all six cities of Delhi-NCR simultaneously from November 1.
