The Indian Army on Friday, May 9, said it had effectively repulsed overnight drone and missile attacks by Pakistani troops along the western border in Jammu and Kashmir amid fears of a full-blown military conflict between both countries.
In a tweet, the Army said it gave a befitting reply to the ceasefire violations by the Pakistani armed forces along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Army successfully neutralised over 50 swarm drones launched by Pakistan during a large-scale counter-drone operation conducted by the air defence units in the areas of Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota (all in Jammu and Kashmir) and Pathankot (Punjab).
The engagement involved extensive use of L-70 guns, Zu-23mm, Schilka systems, and other advanced counter-UAS equipment, demonstrating the Army’s robust capability to counter aerial threats.
