On the occasion of Diwali, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, visited the iconic Ghantewala sweet shop in Old Delhi, where he stopped to buy sweets for his family and friends. During his visit, he also tried his hand at making traditional Indian sweets like imarti and besan laddoo, a moment he later shared in a video.
Sushant Jain, the owner of the historic shop, fondly spoke about the Congress leader’s visit, mentioning that the Ghantewala establishment has been serving sweets to the Gandhi family for generations. He described Rahul Gandhi as India’s “most eligible bachelor” and expressed admiration for his simplicity during the festive interaction.
Jain humorously added that he had requested Rahul Gandhi to get married soon, saying that the shop was eagerly waiting for the opportunity to prepare sweets for his wedding. “All of India is talking about him being the most eligible bachelor,” he said, adding that a wedding in the Gandhi family would be a moment of pride and celebration for the historic sweet shop.
