Mohammed Sinwar became Hamas's leader in October 2024

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday, May 28, said that Muhammed Sinwar, a top Hamas commander and younger brother of slain Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, has been eliminated.

Muhammad Sinwar was the younger brother of the former Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by Israeli military in southern Gaza last October. After his brother’s death, he was elevated to the top ranks of the Palestinian militant group.

Earlier this month, Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz had claimed that Muhammed Sinwar was “likely killed” in an airstrike on Gaza.
