Besides BrahMos, India’s other ballistic missiles such as K4, K15, artillery guns, and tech enabled rifles have received attention from external buyers

Over the past 11 years, India’s defense exports to approximately 100 nations have increased thirty-fourfold, rising from Rs 686 crore in FY14 to Rs 23,622 crore in FY25.

Analysts attribute this remarkable growth to various policy initiatives, such as the streamlining of industrial licensing processes, the exclusion of certain parts and components from licensing requirements, and the relaxation of export regulations for defense equipment, which have collectively enabled India to shift from being a net importer to a significant exporter of defense goods.

Experts predict that India’s defense exports are set to increase significantly, given the advanced technology integration in the country’s equipment.

In FY25, defense exports reached an all-time high of Rs 23,622 crore, marking a 12 percent increase from Rs 21,083 crore in FY24. India aims to exceed Rs 30,000 crore in defense exports during the current fiscal year FY26.
