Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday advocated handing over the leadership of the opposition INDIA bloc to TMC leader and West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee.
Yadav told newspersons here that Mamta Banerjee should be elected leader of the INDIA bloc and any objection from the Congress side would be irrelevant.
Earlier the leader of opposition in the Bihar assembly and son of Yadav, Tejaswi Prasad Yadav had said that the issue would be decided in the meeting of the alliance.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on his social media account X said that no one has questioned the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
The opinion of TMC, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party may vary and they should share their opinion in the meeting of the alliance in which Congress should also place its point on the issue.
