India have booked their place in the final of the Hockey Asia Cup 2025 with their big win over China in the last Super Four match.

India stormed into the final of the Hockey Asia Cup 2025 with a commanding 7-0 victory over China in their last Super Fours clash at the Rajgir Hockey Stadium on Saturday, September 6. The emphatic win secured India’s place in their eighth continental final, where they will face defending champions South Korea, who earlier overcame Malaysia. The Men in Blue, who had struggled against China in the group stage, delivered a flawless performance this time.

The hosts started strong, scoring twice in the opening quarter through Shilanand Lakra and Dilpreet Singh, before Mandeep Singh added a third in the second quarter to give India a 3-0 cushion at half-time. After the break, Rajkumar Pal and Sukhjeet Singh struck in quick succession, extending the lead to 5-0. India’s dominance was evident both in open play and penalty corners, as they converted two set-piece opportunities with precision.

Abhishek then took charge in the final quarter, netting twice — first combining with Sukhjeet Singh in a 2 vs 1 situation, and then finishing off a move created by Shilanand Lakra. With relentless attacking pressure and solid finishing, India ensured an unassailable lead, capping off a clinical display to book a well-deserved spot in the title clash.
