India reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir will always remain an integral part of the country and strongly criticized Pakistan for making “repeated references” to the region during a United Nations debate on peacekeeping reforms.

India on Friday called upon Pakistan to immediately stop human rights violations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) remain an integral and inalienable part of the country.

Addressing a media briefing, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed concern over reports of continued atrocities against civilians in PoK. He said the incidents highlight Pakistan’s “systemic oppression” and “exploitation of local resources” in the occupied region. “We call upon Pakistan to cease its repressive policies in PoK and respect the fundamental rights of the people living there,” Jaiswal stated.

Reaffirming India’s consistent position, the MEA spokesperson emphasized that the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, including areas under Pakistan’s illegal occupation, is an inseparable part of India.

India has repeatedly accused Pakistan of violating human rights and suppressing local voices in PoK, while Islamabad continues to raise the Kashmir issue on international platforms – a move India has dismissed as interference in its internal affairs.
