The Ministry of External Affairs said that the defence ties between India and the US remain strong, and have been strengthening over the past few years

Amid ongoing changes in the global diplomatic landscape, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday, August 1, expressed confidence that India’s relationship with the United States will continue to grow stronger.

Addressing media queries, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal affirmed that the India-US partnership has withstood various political and strategic transitions over the years and remains firmly rooted in shared democratic values and mutual interests.

“India and the United States share a comprehensive global strategic partnership anchored in shared interests, democratic values, and robust people-to-people ties. Our relationship with the United States has endured and evolved through different global and domestic changes on both sides. We are confident it will continue to move forward,” Jaiswal said.

He added that the bilateral ties are anchored in strong people-to-people connections, robust economic cooperation, and a shared commitment to a free, open, and rules-based international order. The MEA’s remarks come amid speculation over potential shifts in foreign policy following political developments in both countries.

Highlighting recent high-level engagements and joint initiatives in technology, defense, and clean energy, the MEA reiterated that India and the US remain key strategic partners working together on regional and global challenges.

The statement reflects New Delhi’s intent to maintain momentum in bilateral cooperation, regardless of leadership changes or geopolitical shifts.
