The Ministry of Communications, on September 3, released fresh data on India’s internet user base through the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report for the March–June 2025 quarter.
According to the report, the total number of internet subscribers in the country grew by 3.48% during the quarter, rising from 96.91 crore at the end of March 2025 to 100.28 crore by the end of June 2025. This marks a significant milestone as India’s internet user base crossed the 100-crore mark.
Of the total subscribers, 4.47 crore accessed the internet through wired connections, while the vast majority—95.81 crore—relied on wireless services, underlining the dominance of mobile internet in the country’s digital landscape.
