India’s software and IT services exports continued to grow in the financial year 2023-24, reaching an estimated $200 billion

India’s exports of software and IT services maintained their upward trajectory in the financial year 2023-24, with projections indicating a total of approximately $200 billion.

This represents a 3.63 percent rise from the $193 billion noted in the prior year, as stated in a report by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC).

The consistent expansion underscores the sector’s robustness and its vital contribution to India’s digital economy.

The report highlights the regional contributions to software exports throughout India. The southern region stands out as the leading contributor, generating $131.1 billion, which represents approximately 65.55 percent of the total exports.

Following this, the western region contributes $34.1 billion, accounting for 17.05 percent, while the northern region adds $30.78 billion, making up 15.39 percent.

The eastern region has the smallest share, with exports totaling $4.02 billion, or 2.01 percent. According to the report, India’s IT and electronics sector has experienced significant growth, attracting prominent global companies thanks to its skilled labor force, cost-effectiveness, and a supportive business climate.
