Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

India’s labour and employment ecosystem is drawing international recognition, with Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announcing that the country’s unemployment rate stands at just 2%—the lowest among G20 nations, as per the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025. Mandaviya highlighted that this milestone reflects India’s strong employment growth, which has been sustained despite global economic uncertainties, owing to economic stability and the government’s visionary policies.

Key flagship programmes are being credited for this achievement, including the National Career Service (NCS) and the newly launched PM Vishit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). Additionally, strategic collaborations with private players such as Amazon and Swiggy are helping expand job opportunities across diverse sectors, reinforcing India’s position as a resilient employment hub in the global economy.

The government has also strengthened the NCS portal, which now features 5.2 crore registered employers, 5.79 crore job seekers, and over 7.22 crore vacancies—of which 44 lakh are currently active. Partnerships with platforms like Quikr and Mentor Together are further widening access to employment and mentoring opportunities, while the integration of over 1,200 cities ensures that even rural job seekers can access real-time job listings, bridging gaps across geographies.
