Quinton de Kock displayed excellent form to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a convincing eight-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2025 clash at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Chasing a modest target of 152 on a challenging pitch, De Kock played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten on 97 off 61 balls, including eight fours and six sixes. KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane contributed with 18 off 15 balls, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi finished not out on 22 off 17 balls.
Earlier, RR got off to a solid start with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson, after being invited to bat by KKR. However, the partnership was broken when Vaibhav Arora dismissed Samson for 13(11).
Local hero Riyan Parag joined the crease, but his innings was cut short by Varun Chakravarthy, who, along with Moeen Ali, tightened the screws in the middle overs. Chakravarthy removed Parag for 25(15), and Moeen followed up by getting rid of Yashasvi for 29(24) in the next over.
The spinners took control, claiming four wickets in total, leaving Rajasthan struggling at 82/5. Despite a late contribution of 33(28) from Dhruv Jurel, RR managed to only reach 151, falling well short of a competitive total.
