Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has agreed to the bilateral ceasefire with Iran in coordination with President Donald Trump

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel has agreed to a bilateral ceasefire with Iran, brokered in coordination with US President Donald Trump. The ceasefire officially came into effect Tuesday morning, June 24, following nearly two weeks of intense conflict.

In a statement delivered after a security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said Israel had accomplished all of its strategic objectives in the 12-day military campaign against Iran. These included neutralizing threats from Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, damaging key military and government infrastructure, and establishing temporary control over Tehran’s airspace.

“Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire,” Netanyahu warned, signaling that the agreement remains conditional on continued Iranian compliance.

Trump announced that the ceasefire deal was “now in effect” and cautioned both nations against violating the terms. His statement followed a series of final Iranian missile attacks on Israeli territory, including a deadly strike on the southern city of Be’er Sheva that killed seven people.

The agreement comes after days of escalating violence that began with Israel’s surprise strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13. In response, Iran launched missile attacks on US assets in the region and retaliated with waves of missile strikes on Israeli territory.

Both countries have now committed to a phased cessation of hostilities. Iran halted its operations early Tuesday morning, June 24, at around 4:00 a.m. GMT, with Israel expected to follow 12 hours later.
