In a significant development in the Zubeen Garg death investigation, key witness Rupkamal Kalita arrived at the CID office in Guwahati after returning from Singapore on Tuesday, October 7. His statement is expected to shed crucial light on the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
Authorities have emphasized the importance of cooperation from witnesses based abroad, noting that their testimonies are vital to the progress of the probe. Kalita will be questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which has already recorded statements from several other associates and witnesses connected to the case.
The investigation has involved international coordination, with India’s Ministry of Home Affairs invoking the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) with Singapore. The SIT continues to examine evidence and witness accounts to determine whether foul play was involved in Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise.
