In a key development in the investigation of the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old law student, Kolkata Police on Friday carried out a detailed crime scene reconstruction at South Calcutta Law College.

The exercise began around 4:30 am and continued for nearly four hours, concluding mid-morning. All four arrested accused were present during the reconstruction — Monojit Mishra, a former student and contractual staff member; current students Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed; and security guard Pinaki Banerjee.

“This reconstruction is a vital part of our investigation,” a senior police officer said. “We will now match the sequence of events with the survivor’s complaint and other available evidence.”
