Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed diplomats from 73 countries to the Maha Kumbh, ensuring they experienced the festival in all its grandeur. The visiting dignitaries enjoyed a daylong tour of the Maha Kumbh Nagar, including a special boat ride to the Sangam on February 2. In the evening, the CM met with the guests, providing them with insights into the significance of the Maha Kumbh and the city of Prayagraj.
During his address, the CM highlighted the global attention the Maha Kumbh was attracting, emphasizing its draw for people from across the world. He expressed his happiness that the diplomats had accepted the invitation to attend the festival, describing it as a vivid representation of India’s cultural heritage. So far, around 35 crore people have visited the holy confluence for a dip, and the CM projected that by the end of the festival on February 26, an estimated 45 crore visitors would have participated.
Upon their arrival in Prayagraj, the diplomats were warmly greeted by the UP government at the Triveni Sangam in Arail. They were then taken by jetty boat to witness the confluence and learn about the cultural and spiritual significance of the river and the Maha Kumbh. Some diplomats even took a holy dip and drank the sacred river water, calling it an unforgettable experience.
Afterwards, the diplomats toured the Maha Kumbh fair in luxury buses provided by UP Tourism. They visited the Akshayavat Corridor and the Bade Hanuman Temple, and explored the Saraswati Koop located in the Akshayavat Corridor. Many diplomats were particularly moved by India’s unique tradition of worshipping rivers and trees, along with their spiritual significance. Following the temple visit, the diplomats’ convoy made its way to an auditorium at the police lines within the fair area, where they were received by the CM.
