The recently released music video for Kufar, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Manushi Chhillar, has stirred controversy online over a particular dance move that went viral. The moment, in which a female dancer lifts her leg while Dosanjh stands behind her, drew criticism from several social media users who found it inappropriate.
Addressing the backlash, Manushi Chhillar clarified that she was not the performer in the viral scene. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she wrote, “Not mine #iykyk. But can we please not disrespect the dancer who was simply doing her job?” She further urged fans to maintain respect for all performers involved in creative productions.
Diljit Dosanjh also reacted to the controversy during an Instagram live session, humorously remarking, “Bruh, I was just standing there… didn’t even know what was going on around me!”
Despite the online debate, Kufar continues to trend across music platforms. The track, part of Dosanjh’s latest album Aura, has been praised for its music and visuals. The video is directed by Piyush and Shazia, with lyrics by Raj Ranjodh and music by Sean.
