Mohammad Rizwan has reportedly declined to sign the Pakistan Cricket Board’s central contract following his demotion as ODI captain.

Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has stirred controversy after refusing to sign the central contract offered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), reportedly over his demotion from Category A to Category B.

According to reports, Rizwan has expressed dissatisfaction with the PCB’s decision and has demanded that his Category A status be restored. He is also said to have sought clarity regarding the tenure and selection process of the national team’s captaincy.

Rizwan’s stance makes him the only contracted player yet to sign the new agreement, adding to the growing tension within Pakistan cricket’s ranks.

The dispute follows a series of changes in the national setup, including Shaheen Shah Afridi replacing Rizwan as Pakistan’s ODI captain, and the batter’s exclusion from the T20I squad.

Sources suggest that PCB officials are in talks with Rizwan to resolve the issue, but no breakthrough has been achieved yet.

The development comes at a turbulent time for Pakistan cricket, which has been undergoing administrative and leadership reshuffles in recent months.
