MS Dhoni’s lightning-fast stumping in just 0.12 seconds, sends Suryakumar Yadav back to the pavilion

MS Dhoni, the 43-year-old talisman of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), delivered another moment of brilliance behind the stumps during his side’s match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, March 23. Dhoni stumped Suryakumar Yadav in just 0.12 seconds, sending cricket fans at the stadium and on social media into a frenzy.

The dismissal came in the 10.3 over, when Noor Ahmad bowled a googly to Yadav. The ball pitched around middle and off stump, tempting the batter to step out of his crease and play an aggressive shot. Yadav attempted an inside-out drive over covers but missed completely as the ball spun sharply off the surface. The ball passed the bat and landed in Dhoni’s gloves, who was quick to react.

With remarkable speed and precision, Dhoni collected the ball cleanly to his right and swiftly removed the bails. Despite Yadav’s attempt to drag his back foot into the crease, replays confirmed he was out of his ground when Dhoni completed the stumping. The dismissal ended a 51-run partnership, with Yadav departing for 29 off 26 balls.

This stumping marked Dhoni’s 44th in the IPL, and he also holds 156 catches in the league. At 43, Dhoni is playing his 18th consecutive IPL season, proving that despite retirement rumours, he continues to defy age and perform at the highest level.
