Mumbai Monorail stopped at around 6.15 pm

Monorail services in Mumbai were suspended on Tuesday, August 19, evening due to heavy rainfall. The disruption occurred around 6:15 pm between Chembur and Bhakti Park, leaving numerous passengers stranded inside the train.

Passengers immediately contacted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s emergency helpline (1916), prompting fire brigade teams to rush to the site. Rescue operations are underway, with the assistance of three snorkel vehicles.

According to the latest updates, several passengers remain trapped inside the monorail and are awaiting evacuation by the authorities.
