Nagaland has become the first state in the North East to integrate the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) under the PM GatiShakti scheme. The announcement was made by Director of Industries & Commerce, P Tokugha Sema, during a state-level workshop held in Kohima on September 10. Sema highlighted ULIP’s potential to improve infrastructure utilization, boost inter-departmental coordination, and enable data-driven governance, which would help reduce supply chain inefficiencies and benefit sectors such as perishable goods transport, disaster response, and manufacturing.
Secretary of Industries & Commerce, Kumar Ramnikant, stressed the importance of digital transformation and collaborative governance, stating that ULIP will help address logistical challenges and improve market access for Naga farm products, handloom, and handicrafts. He underlined the opportunities offered by the Act East Policy and the East Asia Highway to connect Nagaland with international markets, particularly Myanmar, and called on startups to drive innovation in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2027.
The Chief Operating Officer of NLDSL, Arvind Devaraj, presented an overview of ULIP, which integrates data from multiple ministries to improve transparency and efficiency in logistics. The workshop concluded with the signing of an MoU between NLDSL and the Government of Nagaland. The event included technical sessions, presentations, and was attended by government officials, entrepreneurs, startups, and dignitaries.
