India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra etched his name in the history books by crossing the elusive 90-metre mark for the first time in his career at the 2025 Doha Diamond League. On his third attempt, Neeraj unleashed a phenomenal throw of 90.23 metres, surpassing his previous best and making a bold statement on the global stage.
He had earlier registered a strong opening throw of 88.44 metres. With this achievement, Neeraj becomes only the 25th athlete ever – and just the third Asian – to breach the 90-metre barrier in javelin throw. Meanwhile, Germany’s Julian Weber remains in close contention, keeping the battle for victory intense.
