Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a gathering in Imphal, congratulated Nepal’s interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki on assuming office, calling Nepal a close friend of India. His remarks came as Nepal gradually returned to normalcy following days of violent protests that led to a change in government.

Modi acknowledged the significance of Karki taking the top post during a critical transitional period and expressed confidence in her ability to steer the nation through the challenges ahead.
