CBFC Gives The Kerala Story 'A Certificate', Removes 10 Scenes

The Kerala Story, which will be released on May 5, has been issued an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The Censor Board has reportedly deleted 10 scenes, one of them an interview with a former Kerala chief minister.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued ‘A certificate’ to Sudipto Sen’s Hindi movie, The Kerala Story. The movie, which will be released on May 5. The CBFC reportedly deleted 10 scenes, one of them an interview with a former Kerala CM VS Achuthanandan.

The film sparked a massive controversy when the teaser, released in November last year, featuring a character named Shalini Unnikrishnan alias Fatima Ba, stated that 32,000 women were recruited by the IS terror group in Kerala and she was one of them.

The film is written and directed by Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The film shows how the terror outfit abducted Hindu girls from Kerala to make them victims of love jihad and get them involved in terror-related activities. Adah Sharma is playing the lead role in the film.
