The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the former CMD of WAPCOS, Rajinder Kumar Gupta, and his son Gaurav Singal for alleged possession of disproportionate assets and recovered Rs 38.38 crore during a raid conducted at their multiple locations. The probing agency carried out raids at 19 locations in Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Sonepat, and Ghaziabad and recovered Rs 38.8 crore, a significant amount of jewellery, valuable items, and incriminating documents at the premises of the accused. Gupta had been booked recently for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. An FIR was registered against Gupta, his wife Reema Singal, his son Gaurav Singal, and his daughter-in-law Komal Singal on May 3.
