Bollywood couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor won the best actor awards at the 2023 Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards ceremony on February 20. Alia won the best actress award for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. On the other hand, Ranbir bagged the best actor award for Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva’. Alia also received Ranbir’s award on his behalf as he wasn’t present at the award ceremony. Meanwhile, Rishab Shetty received the most promising actor award of the year for his directorial debut Kantara. The film of the year award went to SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Varun Dhawan was awarded the Critics Choice for Best Actor award for playing a werewolf in ‘Bhediya’. Superstar Rekha was also honoured with an award for her outstanding contribution to the film industry.
