Hyderabad Groom Cancels Wedding Over 'Old' Furniture As Dowry

A groom called off his marriage in Hyderabad after he reportedly found that old furniture was given by the bride's family as dowry. The man works as a bus driver.

As per reports, the man did not turn up for the wedding which was scheduled on February 19. Following this, a complaint was lodged by the bride's father and a case was also registered.

The bride's father said that the groom's parents misbehaved with him when he had gone to their house. The local police said that the groom's family had expected furniture among other items as dowry.

However, as ‘used’ furniture was reportedly given by the bride's family, the groom's family called off the wedding, police said based on the complaint.
