‘Meghalaya-Assam Border Talks Likely To Resume In May’: CM Conrad Sangma

Conrad Sangma stated that he and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma will soon finalise the dates for holding the talks.

Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma informed that the government will soon decide the dates for holding the second phase of border talks with Assam. Sangma further informed that the next round of border talks between the two States will discuss the boundary disputes related to six out of 12 areas of differences.

Meghalaya shares an 885 km long inter-state border with Assam .The areas, which will be discussed between the two Stated in the next round of talks are: Langpih in West Khasi Hills district, Borduar, Nongwah-Mawtamur, Deshdoomreah and Block-II in Ri Bhoi district, and Block-I and Psiar-Khanduli in West Jaintia Hills district.
