The Assam government on Saturday, May 20, has appointed IPS officer Anand Mishra as the new Superintendent of Police of North Lakhimpur.

On the other hand, Navneet Mahanta has been appointed as the SP of Nagaon.

Earlier, the SP of Lakhimpur, Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa and Nagaon SP Leena Doley were transferred amid the ongoing probe into the high-profile death case pertaining to the death of sup-inspector Junmoni Rabha in an accident.

The police shuffle comes days after the mysterious death of Nagaon SI Junmoni Rabha.
