Chaos broke out during a conference of Kushwaha Samaj that was being presided over by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan at PRC ground in Sagar district when a man hurled his one-year-old child from the barricades towards the dias. The CM was addressing the community when the child landed in front of him. Confused, Chouhan rushed towards the child as a constable picked up the baby and handed him over to the mother. Luckily, the child survived without any major injury. Chouhan learnt that child Naresh was diagnosed with two holes in his heart and his father Mukesh Patel a resident of Shajapur district was frustrated over the delay and insensitivity of officials towards his plea for assistance towards Naresh’s treatment. Speaking to the media, Mukesh said doctors had detected a hole in his son's heart when he was 3 months' old. He claimed to have spent over Rs 4 lakh for his son's treatment so far, despite not being able to afford it. Chouhan was addressing a gathering of the Kushawaha and Jat communities in the state, a day after his party faced a big defeat in the Assembly polls in the southern state of Karnataka.
